Come and visit KNA's toddler rooms! You will love the energy and love in these rooms. Our
toddler program is filled with activities, music and nurturing moments. You will enjoy the
interactions between the teachers and children as well as the new friendships between children.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Our curriculum for our Toddlers is one of self and world discovery. Our teachers provide a warm,
nurturing and safe environment which supports each individual child and their specific needs. Our
caregivers meet the goals for each toddler by creating a strong relationship and addressing each
child’s needs as they are presented.
The goals of our Toddler rooms are:
• Clean, safe, warm, nurturing classrooms
• Support for individual children’s social and emotional growth
• Strong relationships with children and parents
• Beginning relationships and interactions with peers
• Encourage toddler development of social and emotional milestones
• Enhance and encourage physical development and skills
• Encourage and demonstrate sensible health, safety, and nutritional practices
• Encourage exploration in a safe and secure environment
• Provide parents with regular updates
• Respect cultural diversity
Toddlers (1 year olds)
Visit this room at KNA and you will see toddlers walking and climbing, exploring the room, each in
their own way. Children will be playing on the carpet with toys, stacking with blocks or
maneuvering over small obstacles. You will witness the teacher reading stories with a group of
children gathered around her, playing, pretending, singing and dancing with their group. Meal
times, diaper changes and nap times are all chances for “conversation” or special one on one
interactions. Toddler daily log sheets are sent home with the one year olds and artwork is sent
home on Fridays. All day long, these one year olds receive love, hugs, high fives and snuggles
from their teacher. Interactions, problem solving and social skills are the focus in this room, as
beginning language and relationships start to form.
Toddlers (2 & 3 year olds)
The core curriculum consists of constant interactions between toddlers.
ACTIVE LEARNING is incorporated into the daily activities in this
room. Active Learning is an activity based program designed to
encourage and support fine and gross motor skills as appropriate for
each individual child. It gives the teacher ideas to add to her daily
routine, which keep the children stimulated, engaged as well as
provides an opportunity for bonding. In addition to Active Learning, our
Toddler Program is filled with age appropriate art experiences, music
and movement as well as time for reading. Our toddlers enjoy nature
walks, field trips and fun at the park. Weekly reports and art work are
sent home every Friday.
